Oh my, have I become too sloppy with work updates again? A short overview.
After my last project at KPN.com ended all of a sudden, I quickly transferred to Reed-Elsevier . During several weeks I helped out with some HTML interface design for one of their pilot projects. A very interesting experience: It was the first time I participated in an Agile-process, and with an overseas programmer.
When that project ended, I moved on to something that lasted a bit longer. I spent 5 months working for the organisation that was trying to get together the Electronic Patient File . A completely new role for me, I had become a communication adviser, participating in lots and lots of meetings about how to communicate the project to all inhabitants of the Netherlands, and giving me lots of insight in large government projects, and the problems of communicating on such a large scale.
Spending 80% of my day in meetings wasn’t something I could keep up for long. So we went shopping again, and this time we found a nice project at ICTU . They were developing a web application called TenderNed, and needed a HTML/css/interaction design guy.
Another wonderful look in what it means to develop (too) massive applications for government clients. After six months however, it became clear that it would be better to stop development for a while, and start designing and planning the project again. So I’m moving on to something new. More about that in a later post.
