It's been very quiet around here the last couple of weeks, so I thought I'd give you a bit of an update.
At the end of may my contract at the cops (and primarily their budget for external personnel) ran out, so my pimps went looking for other work. We quickly went through a number of options, and a week later I started at GBO.Overheid, which is a government wide Shared Service Organisation for ICT. It has been established to take on a number of tasks on electronic government (e-government). GBO.Overheid is responsible for the tactical and operational management and maintenance of generic shared key-services for e-government. I'm helping them set up an online community for knowledge sharing on Metadata standards, and has been quite fun so far. I had to return my company car, but now I get to take the bus that basically takes me from my front door directly to theirs.
One of the reasons for the absence of any content seems to be a little creative burn-out I've been experiencing for the last couple of months. I constantly get all kinds of awesome ideas, but when I try to put them to paper or Photoshop, the ideas crumble into dust, leaving me to stare blankly at my screen.
I'm hoping to cure this the next two weeks: tomorrow I'm leaving for a well deserved trek through Scotland. A beautiful piece of planet which should re-energize me a bit. I'll try to post pictures, if I'm able to locate free wi-fi hotspots near the hotels.
See you in two weeks!
