Atomizing
Now that the Atom 1.0 specification is pretty much final and waiting for approval, I have updated my feeds to the new standard.
It wasn't much of a re-write for me. Some tags got a different name, that's basically it.
One of the primary changes is that Atom 1.0 uses a new XML namespace. The version 0.3 namespace used be http://purl.org/atom/ns#
, which I had to change to http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom
.
Atom is a simple way to read and write information on the web, allowing you to easily keep track of more sites in less time, and to seamlessly share your words and ideas by publishing to the web.
This website currently has one Atom feed:
The latest post of the main "log".
For more details on the feed format you can have a look at the Atom 1.0 specification. If you have a feed you want to upgrade, hop over to Rakaz: Moving from Atom 0.3 to 1.0.
There is a 'but': As the format isn't approved yet, most feed readers don't support it. Currently I'm having problems with Sage, and I have casualty reports on Bloglines. Let's hope they catch on soon. In the meantime; Please update your feeds for my site :-)
