Yourself and Your Site Meme

so, *sigh*, here 't is.

Summarise myself in one word

Nondescript.

That's probably because I still haven't figured myself out yet. Who took the manual?

Summary of my website in one word

Green.

After more then 7 years of blue limbo, the site suddenly changed its colour. Amazing. Why?

Green comes with many symbiotic meanings, among which, the strongest and the most universal is nature. Which could point to the area I live; it's pretty green outside. Related to that, it also signifies life, youth, renewal, hope and vigor.

Brides in the Middle Ages wore green to symbolize fertility. We'll ignore that last bit. That all sounds really cool in some marketing kind of way. I probably like the second About.com paragraph best:

"is the easiest colour on the eye and can improve vision. It is a calming colour and has a neutral effect on the human nervous system. The "green rooms" are designed for people who are waiting to appear on TV to sit and relax. Green is also a popular colour in hospitals because it relaxes patients."

So if you feel like a homicidal maniac, come to my website, to get sedated by bad posts, some neat pictures, and very light content. And the green decoration. Did this describe my website thoroughly? No, of course not.

I really didn't want to spread this meme, but I then remembered I enjoy other people being annoyed. So take this, Sjors, Jeroen and T.

Arie 08 Nov 2005 Whohoo! Finally I can post again!

t 09 Nov 2005 What? Is the meme-land monkey running short of ideas or something?

Hayo Bethlehem 09 Nov 2005 The meme-land monkey was shot.

Matt Robin 24 Nov 2005 Green is a 'neutral' colour and Colour Psychologists (and they're a fun bunch!) have said that people who use/like too much green are promoting an image of 'ambiguity'.

Hayo 24 Nov 2005 I reject your Colour Psychologist and substitute my own!
